What is SLAT 2028?
SLAT full form: Symbiosis Law Admission Test. It is the entrance exam for Symbiosis Law Schools. It is for B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), and B.Com. LL.B. (Hons.) at SLS Pune.
SLAT 2028 is for students who finish Class 12 in 2027 or 2028 and want to join Symbiosis in 2028.
SLAT is a shorter and simpler test than CLAT or AILET. But the Personal Interview also counts, so do not ignore it. See our CLAT 2028 guide for the other major exam.

SLAT 2028 Syllabus: The Five Sections
Symbiosis names the sections, not the chapters. The topics below come from past papers.
Logical Reasoning (12 questions)
Arguments, assumptions, conclusions, statements and inferences. Read slowly, because the options are close.
Legal Reasoning (12 questions)
Short legal principles with facts. Topics seen include the Constitution, torts, contracts, crimes, family law, IPR and legal maxims. You apply the rule given in the question.
Analytical Reasoning (12 questions)
Puzzles, arrangements, data-based questions and basic arithmetic patterns. This is where practice gives the fastest gain.
Reading Comprehension (12 questions)
Passages, vocabulary, grammar and inference. Daily reading is the only real preparation.
General Knowledge (12 questions)
Current affairs, awards, personalities, sports and static facts. Keep a short monthly note and revise it often.

SLAT vs CLAT: Which Is Better, and Is SLAT Easier?
SLAT is shorter, has no negative marking, and past papers were reported as easy to moderate. That is why many students call it easier.
But “easier” does not mean “safe”. Cutoffs differ by Symbiosis school and year, and the interview carries 30%.
SLAT leads only to Symbiosis. CLAT opens many NLUs. Most students apply to both, and that is a sensible plan.

Every section is equal, so there is no section to skip. A weak section will pull your score down.
At SLS Pune, the 60 marks are scaled up to 70 marks for the merit list.
SLAT 2028 Application Form, Fee and Process
This is the SLAT 2027 process. SLAT 2028 should be similar.

SLAT Admit Card, Mock Test, Result and Cutoff
- Admit card: one for each test, about a week before it. In SLAT 2027 they are on 11 and 18 December. Print it in colour and carry an ID.
- Mock test: Symbiosis runs an official mock for registered candidates. The SLAT 2027 final mock is on 22 November 2026.
- Result: the SLAT 2027 result is on 12 January 2027.
- Cutoff: each Symbiosis school sets its own, after the result. Do not trust early cutoff numbers from random sites.
SLAT Selection Process and Seats
After the result, you must pay the school fee to be shortlisted for the Personal Interview. Merit lists then use 70% SLAT and 30% PI, as per the SLS Pune page.
SLS Pune lists a total intake of 600 seats across its three programs. Please check the bulletin for Noida, Hyderabad and Nagpur, as I could not confirm their seat numbers on the official pages.

How to Prepare for SLAT 2028
- Read daily. 30 minutes of newspaper builds Reading Comprehension and GK together.
- Practise puzzles. Analytical Reasoning improves fast with regular timed sets.
- Learn legal principles slowly. Apply the rule given in the question. Do not use outside law.
- Solve SLAT previous year papers and mock tests. 60 questions in 60 minutes means one minute each. Speed is the real test.
- Prepare for the interview. It carries 30%. Practise speaking clearly about your reasons for law.

Symbiosis has not announced the SLAT 2028 dates yet. They are expected in December 2027. SLAT 2027 is on 19 and 26 December 2026, both Saturdays. Please confirm on the official SLAT website.

Based on SLAT 2027, it is a computer-based test of 60 MCQs in 60 minutes with five sections of 12 questions each. There is no negative marking. No change has been announced for SLAT 2028.
